2026 Fundraising Goal: Help Us Outfit Full Backpacking Packs
We are raising money to outfit full backpacking backpacks for our Trailmen so every kid can experience an overnight adventure. The challenge is keeping the gear complete, safe, and lightweight enough to carry.
It costs $600 to $800 to outfit one pack. Our goal is to maintain a set of packs for many years so they can serve countless families who could not otherwise afford to get into backpacking.
- Youth-fit lightweight backpack with rain cover
- Shelter: tent or tarp system with stakes and guyline
- Sleeping bag plus sleeping pad
- Headlamp with spare batteries
- Water bottles or bladder plus a simple filter
- Compact stove, fuel, pot, and utensil
- Food storage: bear bag setup or odor-proof bag
- Weather layers: rain jacket and warm insulation layer
- First aid kit and blister care
- Map and compass plus a whistle
- Fire-starting kit and small repair kit
- Toiletries and Leave No Trace supplies
